Large manufacturing company North of Boston seeks an Accounts Receivable / Collections to join their team. This is a temp assignment with a potential to go permanent. Seeking someone who is detail oriented with a good attitude, solid interpersonal skills and intermediate excel skills.
The collections calls are not calling the customers, they would be calling the Brokers. They refer to them as collection deductions. This role entails a variety of resource in that often times Sales negotiates certain coupons, deals, rebates, or seasonal promotions that are not communicated to accounting. This person will do a variety of follow up with sales to clarify and correct, mostly over email since Sales is traveling on sales calls. Then they will collaborate with their Brokers that sell the customers to handle deduction management (aka collections).
This person is one in a group of 3 and reports to the Treasury manager and has a part time cash applications support.
Other responsibilities will include:
Research/contact clients with past due invoices and deductions;
Perform collection activities on assigned accounts;
Establish effective communication with internal and external clients in an effort to expedite the collection process and minimize deductions;
Record information about collection efforts and financial status of customer;
Write up Credit Memos and other necessary adjustments;
Maintain customer data field, perform credit check and grant extensions;
Review “orders on hold” due to the credit issues and release for shipment on daily basis;
Assist in accounting related duties and work on special projects as needed;
Assist in cash application process if needed.
Skills & experience required:
Bachelors’ degree;
2 — 3 years of AR / Collections experience;
Strong verbal and written communication skills;
Intermediate Excel skills;
Attention to detail;
Ability to interact professionally on all levels of the organization;
