Essential functions of a Senior Consultant at Deloitte Consulting: A Senior Consultant at Deloitte works within an engagement team and is responsible for identifying business requirements, requirements management, functional design, prototyping, process design (including scenario design, flow mapping), testing, training, defining support procedures and supporting implementations.
Senior Consultants are required to have: · 4 years of relevant consulting or industry experience· A Bachelor's Degree· Must be eligible to obtain government security clearance· A willingness to travel up to 25% of the time· At least 2 years of experience leading teams· A minimum of 2 full life cycle implementations· In depth understanding of SDLC processes – Waterfall, Agile, RAD· Minimum 4 years of experience in performing tests in various OS platforms: Windows, UNIX, Linux· Experience in implementing software quality assurance processes· Experience in reviewing software requirements, writing test plans and test cases in highly structured and/or loosely structured development environments· At least 2 years of experience in writing and executing test scripts (manual and automated)· At least 2 years of experience in using tools such as – Serena, Quality Center / QTP, or IBM Rational, or WATIR· Experience working with project stakeholders to establish internal standards and best practices· Experience in leading quality assurance teams· In depth knowledge of industry quality assurance standards – such as IEEE Std 730, NASA SQA, MIL–Q–9858· Proficiency in MS Office
In addition, successful Senior Consultants will have the following preferred background: · Knowledge of risk driven software testing· Knowledge of programming/scripting languages such as – Perl, SQL, Java Script· Knowledge of database systems such as – Oracle, My
SQL, MS SQL· Ability to review and understand business and technical specifications· Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignments· Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills· Ability to write reports and build briefings· A strong sense of organization, with strict attention to details· Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment· Eagerness to mentor junior staff· An advanced degree or certification in the area of software engineering or quality assurance
