Audit Manager Job in San Diego, California US

The Compliance Department seeks a full-time Compliance Specialist to be based out of the central office in Wellesley to ensure compliance with the LIHTC program, HUD programs with an emphasis on Section 8 program, the HOME program and federal/state regulations. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Compliance and Director of Compliance. This position will also report to/communicate with senior staff, Regional Managers, Property Managers and outside monitoring agencies, as applicable.

The job duties may include, but may not be limited to the following: LIHTC and/or HUD move-in and recertification processing; LIHTC and/or HUD property audits; EIV coordination for HUD portfolio; coordination and submission of year-end LIHTC reporting; and track and maintain audit schedules/reports/responses. The candidate must have experience with move-in and recertification processing (including accurate income computations for the LIHTC and HUD programs); Spectrum EOY database (and/or comparable LIHTC reporting software); and HUD’s EIV program (or public housing equivalent).

In addition, the candidate must have proficiency with Microsoft applications including Excel and Word; possess strong oral/written communication skills; strong organizational skills and have the ability to multi-task in a deadline driven environment while being able to prioritize such tasks. The candidate must also be responsible, self-motivated, detail-oriented and flexible in order to work independently as well as within a team environment. The candidate must possess: a LIHTC designation (SHCM, C3P or equivalent); a HUD Occupancy designation (CPO, COS or equivalent); and documentation of Fair Housing training attendance within the past year. A valid driver’s license and vehicle are required.
